John Stamatopoulos is a Greek graphic designer and Art Director with more than 20 years of professional experience.

He studied Dentistry at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki before turning to graphic design and graduating from AKTO College in 2004. Since then, he has worked across graphic design, visual identity, illustration, photography, animation, video and digital media.

From 2011 to 2019 he was Art Director and tutor at VELLIOS SCHOOL OF ART (VSA), working closely with its founder, Vlasis Vellios, while teaching Graphic Design, Package Design, Visual Communication and Typography.

His commercial work includes visual identities, packaging, advertising and editorial design for brands such as Converse – Product Red, Harley Sportswear, KYMCO Greece, STAFF, N.R.G., Danaos, Famous Brands, Kix, Athlokinisi, Collective, We[R] and Mattas Sports. He has also worked with design and advertising studios including eleven11, Designteam, Sereal Designers, Designpark, SmartFrames, +design magazine and more.

A significant part of his work has been connected with theatre, film and cultural organizations. He has collaborated with the Greek Art Theatre – Karolos Koun, Kart Productions, the Foundation of the Hellenic World, Eugenides Foundation, Eleftherotypia, Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, ERT3, Andros International Festival, Horos Theatre Company, Viewmaster Films and more. He has also worked with directors and artists including Pantelis Voulgaris, Dimos Avdeliodis, Emmanouil Koutsourelis, Takis Giannetos and Eva Nathena.

His work includes both commissioned and personal projects, moving between commercial design and the visual arts, with particular involvement in theatre, cinema and cultural events.
